Studio City residents can get the coronavirus shot at Walmart

STUDIO CITY, CA – Residents of Studio City can now get their coronavirus shot at their nearest Walmart or Sam’s Club pharmacy.

Walmart, which operates Sam’s Club, announced Tuesday that all 308 pharmacies in California will offer COVID-19 vaccines to walk-ins and by appointment. A membership is required to make purchases at Sam’s Club, but the vaccine is also available to non-members.

In Studio City, the nearest Walmart is located at 1301 N Victory Pl in Burbank.

Nationwide, more than 5,100 Walmart and Sam’s Club pharmacies will offer the vaccine. Nearly 4,000 of those pharmacies administer vaccines in medically underserved areas, according to Walmart.

“Now that supply and eligibility have expanded, it is even more important for us to reach underserved and vulnerable populations to ensure equitable distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine,” said Dr. Cheryl Pegus, vice -Executive Chairman of Health and Wellness at Walmart, in a statement. “Widespread vaccination is the only way to end the pandemic and help our country reopen, and we don’t want anyone to be left behind as we enter this new chapter in our fight against COVID-19. .”

Pharmacies will offer Johnson & Johnson, Moderna and Pfizer vaccines, all of which have been approved for emergency use by federal authorities.

Nearly 31 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in California.
