Man shot while sitting in car on Sherman Way

VAN NUYS, Calif. — A man was shot and injured while sitting in his car in Van Nuys, and his attacker remains at large, authorities said Monday.

The victim was hospitalized with stable vital signs according to Officer A. Delatorre of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center.

The shooting happened just before 5 p.m. Sunday at 15255 Sherman Way, Delatorre said.

The victim, a man between 25 and 30, was sitting in his car when he was approached by an armed man believed to be in his 20s, according to police. The shooter was on foot when he shot the victim before fleeing the scene, Delatorre said.
