The Beignet Box food truck was a staple on Ventura Boulevard in Studio City before Louisiana natives Elizabeth Morris and Christina Milian opened their brick-and-mortar store last month.

The cafe has already received a warm welcome after co-owners and friends staged a New Orleans-style opening parade.

Elizabeth and Christina have been friends for almost two decades. The pop star and actress accompanied Elizabeth on trips to New Orleans to help with Hurricane Katrina reconstruction efforts.

The two moved in together, and their place in Studio City was known as the sugar shack. The nickname is the name they wanted to give their business, but they opted for Beignet Box instead.

Jessica got to try donuts and said they were crispy and chewy.

And a new location is coming to Americana in Glendale this summer!
